Here we have numerous old postcards of Bishop Wilton, loosely grouped into seven galleries according to village features. The 50+ images displayed come from over 80 that have been added to the archives over the years. We are lucky that the village has been considered so photogenic by the publishers of postcards.
Church - The church, the old and new vicarages and the fishpond from numerous angles.
Bridge - Pubs, shops & people at the cross roads.
Top End - The east end of the village
Bottom End - The west end of the village.
Aerial Views - Just one so far.
Multi-Views - Again, only one.
Miscellaneous - The ones that didn't fall into any of the other categories.
Highlighted - One or two postcards are worthy of extended consideration so they are grouped here.
The galleries show small images of all the postcards in the category. Click on these images to see a larger image along with some explanatory details if you are lucky.
It is hoped to enlarge sections of the postcards to bring out further detail - in time!
