All meetings are on a Wednesday, starting at 7.30, in the Village Hall at Bishop Wilton unless otherwise stated. Refreshments are provided after the talks to promote an exchange of views. Where possible talks are accompanied by a display of related material.

"Stone Carving of the 12th Century: A Message in Stone" - a talk by Father James Finnemore, Rector of St Edith's Church, Bishop Wilton. Father Finnemore will explore the cross-cultural factors and the shared faith that influenced the creation of church stonework. There will be special reference to the stonework of St Edith's Church. |

"Wharram Remembered" - a talk by Wendy Gilding. Drawing on her first-hand experience of archaeological activity at the deserted medieval village of Wharram Percy. Wendy will provide an up to date account of the archaeological finds and she will reminisce about the day-to-day activities that involved her whole family. |

No date has been fixed yet but it is hoped that a survey of land adjacent to the Bishop Wilton Palace site (and not included in its boundary) can be conducted assuming the necessary permissions can be obtained. This is not a public event but the results will be announced publicly once finalised. |
| 14th May |
"Pocklington and Surrounding Villages in Old Photographs" - a talk by Andrew Sefton. Andrew is an active member of both the Bishop Wilton and the Pocklington local history groups. His aim for this talk is to feature photos of places in the locality as they were and as they are now. |

Date to be decided. Active members of the Group will meet to make progress with the publication of a Local History Walk Brochure for Bishop Wilton and explore opportunities for other publications. |

Date to be decided. The Annual General Meeting. The Committee Members welcome anyone who would like to attend to listen or to contribute to the planning of future activities. |

"Bishop Wilton: The War Years" - a talk by Kate and Mike Pratt using material gathered for the Evacuee Day in 2001. There will be snippets of video and readings from the recorded memories of both evacuees and residents of the village. We will invite those who lived in the village through the war years to take part in this event. |
